Russia, Turkey run 112th joint patrol in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – Russian Military Police (MP) conducted on Monday a joint patrol with Turkish forces in the western countryside of Kobani, north Syria.
This is the 112th patrol between the two forces in the region since the signing of the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement in 2019.
Following the Turkish incursion in October 2019, Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US stipulating ceasing all hostilities, launching joint patrols, and the withdrawal of the SDF 32 km away from the Turkish border.
The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles, set off from the village of Ashma, 20 km west of Kobani.
The patrol passed the villages of Charqli Fouqani, Qeran, Dikmadash, Khorkhoy, Boban and Jol Bek and other villages in the western countryside reaching to the village of Tel Sha’ir 4 km west of Kobani.
The Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near Ashma, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near the town of Sirrin, south of Kobani.
On September 19, Russian Military Police (MP) conducted a one-sided patrol without Turkish participation on the contact lines in the countryside of the town of Derbasiyah, north of Hasakah in northeastern Syria.

On September 5, Russian Military Police (MP) conducted a joint patrol with Turkish forces in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
