Potential Israeli airstrikes target positions in Syria’s Hama
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, several sites in the western countryside of Hama, in western Syria, were subjected to what appeared to be Israeli airstrikes against military posts, likely affiliated with the Iranian-backed militias.
State-run news agency SANA said that the Syrian forces’ air defenses succeeded in repelling “hostile targets over Masyaf,” a city west of Hama.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that Israeli airstrikes targeted the Wadi al-Uyun road, west of Masyaf, the area of the Scientific Research Center, and A’swaidah area, southeast of Masyaf.
SOHR added that the strikes hit military posts and ammunitions’ depots affiliated to Iranian-backed militias, noting that some weapons’ warehouses were destroyed due to the attack.
The observatory confirmed that there were no casualties in the assault.
On August 15, Israeli airstrikes targeted military posts of Syrian government forces in Tartus and Rif-Dimashq Governorates, killing three soldiers and wounding three others.
