Syria’s AANES demands residents of Kobani stay home due to Turkish shelling

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) –Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Euphrates Region warned on Tuesday residents of the city of Kobani, north Syria, of leaving their houses and moving around because of the Turkish shelling the city was witnessing.

Since early morning, Kobani and its countryside have being under heavy shelling fired by Turkish artillery.

The AANES, in a statement, held guarantor countries (Russia and the US) responsible for the “crimes of the Turkish occupation against civilians” in Kobani.

Following the Turkish incursion in October 2019, Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US stipulating ceasing all hostilities and the withdrawal of the SDF 32 km away from the Turkish border.

The SDF did withdrew from the border areas according to the agreement, but Turkey continues targeting the area.

A 14-year-old child lost his life, two-year-old child was injured in the head and two other civilians were injured, medical sources revealed the primary outcome of the Turkish shelling.

The Turkish shelling targeted many villages including Qaramogh in the eastern countryside of Kobani, Boban, Seftek, Ashma and Silem in the western countryside of the city.

The Turkish shelling continued to the moment of making this report.
