Turkish shelling of Syria’s Kobani hits innocent child in head

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – A two-year old child was injured on Tuesday morning in the city of Kobani, north Syria, due to heavy Turkish artillery shelling of Kobani Hospital in the eastern part of the city.

A medical source from the hospital told North Press that Khalil Jihad Sheikho was injured in the head, adding that the shell exploded on the roof of the hospital, forcing patients and their companions to flee the hospital fearing that it [shelling] could be repeated.

Up to date, the Turkish artillery is still shelling a number of neighborhoods in Kobani and villages in the eastern and western countryside of the city, causing widespread panic among residents.

North Press correspondent in Kobani reported that the shelling was becoming more expansive to cover villages in the western countryside of the city, as it was randomly shelled.

The correspondent added people were displaced from border areas to the city center in line with the ongoing shelling and firing shots.
