SDF reveals toll of attacks on Turkish forces within “right of self-defense”

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Media Center said in a statement released on Thursday that within the framework of the right of self-defense, the SDF had carried out three operations in August, targeting Turkish forces on the border area adjacent to the Turkish city of Mardin.

The statement said that the recent Turkish attacks on northeastern Syria killed seven civilians, including two children, and injured 17 others, including 10 children and three women.

According to the statement, “The first operation targeted an armored vehicle, killing seven Turkish soldiers and wounding two others; the second killed 10 and destroyed an armored vehicle; and the third resulted in killing of six soldiers.”

“Thus, 23 Turkish soldiers died and at least two others were wounded as a total.”

On Tuesday, four members of the Self-Defense Forces (compulsory recruitment), affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), lost their lives and three others were wounded in a Turkish drone assault, while five others, including two children, were killed in a similar attack on Saturday. Both attacks took place in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria.

On Wednesday afternoon, three people were killed in a Turkish drone strike that targeted a car in the village of Malla Sibat, southwest of Qamishli.
