Turkish drone targets medical clinics in Aleppo northern countryside

ALEEPO, Syria (North Press) – A drone targeted on Wednesday the medical clinics building in the town of Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo, causing great damage to the building.

The building includes gynecological clinics and pediatric surgery. However, no casualties were recorded because the building was empty, an eyewitness told North Press.

Since early May, the Turkish forces have escalated the shelling of villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo triggering panic and fear among residents in addition to material losses.

On Tuesday, Turkish artillery fired shells on the village of Aqiba, Soghana and Deir Jamal, south of Afrin, according to a local source.

The villages’ residents stayed in the basements, fearing of the heavy shelling, the source indicated.

The town of Tel Rifaat, which embraces part of the IDPs of Afrin region, has been threatened with invasion by Turkey and its affiliated factions since residents of Afrin fled their areas and headed towards the northern countryside of Aleppo amidst successive shelling that the town is witnessing.

Syrian government forces accompanied by Russian forces are running the town of Tel Rifaat and its vicinities, where their posts have been deployed since 2018.
