Government checkpoints tighten security in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor after lost contact with members
Deir ez-Zor, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday afternoon, the military checkpoints of the Syrian government forces in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, intensified searches of buses and cars on the highways under their control, after losing contact with members of the affiliated National Defense Forces (NDF).
The meticulous searching included buses and cars passing through the Deir ez-Zor-Raqqa road, and agricultural vehicles traveling between villages and towns under the control of the government forces.
“The meticulous searching of the checkpoints, in addition to setting up other temporary checkpoints, came after losing contact with three members of the NDF this morning, where it is believed that they were kidnapped by unknown individuals,” Osama al-Mulla, a pseudonym for an NDF member in the town of al-Tebni, said.
He added that the three missing persons came from the town of al-Tebni, and were heading to their military points after the end of their vacations.
