Government forces target opposition groups’ posts in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Syrian government forces renewed their shelling against the opposition groups’ posts in Idlib and Hama, northwest Syria.

Government forces targeted the villages and towns of al-Zeyarah, al- Mashik, Tel Wasat, ad al- Sirmaniyah in Ghab Plain, west Hama, with heavy artillery shells and rocket launchers, field sources told North Press.

Syrian government forces shelled the town of Ain La Rose and the agriculture lands around in Zawiya Mountain, south Idlib, with heavy artillery shells.

The shelling coincided with intense Russian drones’ flight over Idlib, north Latakia countryside, and west Hama countryside.

Although the ceasefire between Russia and Turkey has been in place since March 2020, the region is witnessing a military escalation and mutual bombardment between the government forces and the opposition groups.
