Coronavirus infection recorded in Syria’s Arisha camp, appeals to provide vaccine
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday,an official source of the Kurdish Red Crescent said that a coronavirus infection was recorded in the Arisha camp, south of Hasakah, northeast Syria, amid fears of the outbreak of the virus within the camp.
The official called on the relevant international organizations, primarily the US-led Global Coalition to provide the coronavirus vaccine for the region.
While the camp administration said, “The camp as a whole, and the isolation section in particular, need numerous medical equipment and materials.”
Arisha camp is house for 2,730 families with a total of 13,544 displaced people from different areas of Deir ez-Zor and Hasakah.
The Autonomous Administration-held areas have not received any coronavirus vaccine so far, unlike the government and opposition-held areas, which will get the vaccine soon.
