Fierce Infighting between two Turkish backed armed groups in Azaz, northern Aleppo

On Wednesday, fierce infighting took place between two armed groups in the town of Azaz, northern Aleppo, amid information regarding casualties.

The town of Azaz in the northern countryside of Aleppo has witnessed fierce clashes between two armed groups, one of which backed by Northern Storm Brigade and the other consisted of militants from the southern countryside of Azaz, the clashes resulted in certain injuries among the two sides, while the cause of the infighting is still unknown, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The clashes caused a state of panic and fear among the locals, which led to the closure of the shops and the lack of movement in the border town.

On February 20, clashes were reported between the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups on the road between the two villages of Sukariya Kabira and Jeb al-Naasan in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo.

The clashes broke out after an attack on the members of Jaysh al-Ahfad militia by members of Ahrar al-Sham faction, due to sheep smuggling into the areas of the Autonomous Administration in northern Aleppo, the clashes led to the killing of two militants.
