The deployment of the armed opposition groups on the M4 highway is a refusal message of withdrawal – Field source

The Turkish-backed armed opposition groups have been deployed since Wednesday, until today on the M4 highway in the southern countryside of Idlib governorate, north-west of Syria.

A field source in Idlib told North-Press, that the armed opposition groups located in the villages near the M4 highway in the southern and western countryside of Idlib have been redeployed since yesterday on the highway, rejecting the withdrawal agreement.

The source added that the armed groups are deploying from time to time on the M4 highway, sending a message to the Turkish and Russian forces that they will not withdraw from these areas.

The areas of control of the armed opposition groups in Idlib countryside have been under tension since Wednesday, after the Turkish statements about the withdrawal of the opposition groups from areas south of the M4 highway for the conduct of joint Russian-Turkish military patrols.

The source said that the armed opposition groups and the residents of Arihah and Jisr al-Shughour in the southern and western countryside of Idlib are preparing to protest on the M4 highway, in order to prevent the passing of the joint Russian-Turkish patrols.

The commander in the National Front for Liberation, Jaber Basha posted on his Twitter account: "We will remain attached to our lands, neither surrender nor give up on any inch of our liberated areas.”

The Turkish President Erdogan and the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire agreement that included the construction of a safe corridor at a depth of 6 km in the north of M4 highway and 6 km to the south, with details to be determined within seven days, as the ceasefire agreement has taken effect since March 6.
