Last night, violent clashes took place between the Syrian government forces and the armed opposition groups in the strategic hills of al-Kabinah in Latakia's north-eastern countryside, with reports regarding injuries on both sides.

On Thursday at midnight, clashes erupted between Russian-backed Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed armed opposition groups in the hills of al-Kabinah in the north-eastern countryside of Latakia.

According to a field source from Idlib countryside, al-Kabinah hills are considered the stronghold of Jisr al-Shughur area in Idlib's countryside, which is held by the militants of Turkistan Islamic Party.

The Syrian government forces, with the direct support of Russian forces, made repeated attempts to take control over al-Kabinah, which is located in the foothills of al-Akrad Mountain – one of the most important military sites overlooking large areas of Jisr al-Shughur countryside and areas of al-Ghab Plain in Hama's north-western countryside. None of these attempts has been successful so far.
