Turkish military reinforcements continue to enter the de-escalation zone in Idlib amid cautious calm

On Tuesday, Turkish forces brought a new military convoy consisting of dozens of military vehicles into the de-escalation zones in northwestern Syria’s Idlib province amid the continuation of the ceasefire in the region.

The Turkish convoy consisted of 50 military vehicles, artillery, and personnel carriers which reached the Turkish observation points in areas in northwestern Syria via Kafr loussin border point in the northern countryside of Idlib.

With the latest convoy, the number of military vehicles that have entered Syrian territory since the start of the new ceasefire, which began on the 6th of March, has reached 1,010, in addition to hundreds of soldiers, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Meanwhile, yesterday, Monday, Turkish forces established a new observation post in the village of Kafr Nouran in the western countryside of Aleppo.

This brings the number of Turkish observation posts in the de-escalation zone since late December to 42, most of which are distributed in the Idlib countryside.

The north-west region of Syria continues to witness the cease-fire, with Russian and Syrian government warplanes absent.
