Turkish forces bomb villages in Sharra and Sherawa districts in southern Afrin

Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups are shelling villages in both Sharra and Sherawa districts in Afrin, resulting in material damage in civilians’ houses.

 

Dozens of shells have hit the villages of Soghana, Aqiba, Abin and Ziyara in Sherawa distrit, south of Afrin, in coincidence with Turkish artillery shelling on Maraanaz, al-Malikiya, Shawargha, Qalaat Shawargha, Tat Marash, Kafr Anton, Tal Ajjar and al-Alqamiya villages in Sharra district in Afrin region.

 

While the Turkish forces have bombarded a school in Sheikh Issa village, northern countryside of Aleppo, without reports regarding casualties.

 

On Wednesday, 5 people lost their lives and 12 were injured, at least, due to the fall of 5 artillery shells on the vicinity of al-Shifa’ Hospital (formerly Avrin Hospital) in the city of Afrin, northwestern Syria.

 

Today is the second anniversary of the control of Turkish forces and the affiliated armed opposition groups over Afrin region, after battles lasted for two months with the People’s Protection Units (YPG), started on January 20, 2018 and ended on March 18, in the same year.
