Turkey moves infected Syrian refugees with coronavirus to areas under its control in Syria – Sources

Informed sources told North-Press that Turkish authorities are working to transfer the Syrian refugees who are infected with coronavirus to their areas of control within Syrian territories, without providing them any health care.

On Thursday, North-Press learned from sources (refused to reveal their identity) that Turkish authorities handed over the Turkish army a group of Syrian refugees infected with coronavirus, to be transferred into the hospital of Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), without providing any health care for them.

The sources added that Turkish authorities transferred other groups of Syrian refugees who are affected with coronavirus to different areas under their control inside Syria, without giving any additional details.

On Monday, March 30, North-Press published a report on the absence of preventative measures against coronavirus in the region of Afrin, which is controlled by Turkish-backed armed opposition groups.

On Tuesday, the pro-Turkey local council in Afrin announced a curfew for a period of 14 days, amid assurances by local sources that the markets are still overcrowding and the movement in the city continues as before.

The Autonomous Administration has imposed a lockdown for a period of two weeks, which may be extendable, in northeastern areas of Syria since March 23, while the Syrian government imposed a partial ban starting from six in the evening until six in the morning, implemented on March 25.
