On Saturday, North-Press obtained information from a medical source inside a Syrian government hospital in the city of Aleppo, confirming the presence of cases of the novel coronavirus in hospitals in Aleppo.

 

 

The medical source, who preferred not to be named for fear of being arrested by security forces, told North-Press that there were confirmed cases of coronavirus in hospitals in Aleppo city.

 

He explained that there are three cases of coronavirus in Ibn Rushd Hospital in al-Ashrafiya neighborhood; they have been quarantined in addition to two other suspected cases.

 

The medical source added that there were six cases in al-Razi hospital in al-Jameeliya neighborhood, who were quarantined after they were examined and confirmed to be carrying the virus.

 

By order of government authorities, the hospitals' management in Aleppo city are to keep silent about the news of the presence of coronavirus cases, and they have refrained from speaking to media outlets, according to the source.
