Civilian protests on the M4 highway rejecting the Russian patrols

Protests on Aleppo-Latakia road, known as the M4 highway in refusal of conducting the scheduled Russian-Turkish patrols on the highway.

North-Press reporter, on Friday, indicated that hundreds of civilians gathered near Arihah bridge in southern Idlib, and at other points on the M4 highway, where they cut the road with tires and stones, and set up tents for the protests.     

The protsetors launched the slogan "Dignity demonstrations" and expressed their refusal of the Russian patrols, which are expected to be conducted on the M4 highway, accompanied with Turkish patrols on March 15.

In a related context, the Syrian Minister of Transportation, Ali Hamoud, confirmed on Thursday that the Ministry of Transportation is ready to open the M4 highway, in case of the commitment of the Turkish forces to the terms of the agreement signed between the Russian and Turkish presidents in Moscow.

On Thursday, the official website of the Ministry quoted Hamoud as saying, that in cooperation with Latakia Governorate, the ministry has stated to remove the berms and debris on the highway, in a preliminary step for the movement of transportation.

In a related context, the Syrian government forces continue removing the earth berms to open the roads that lead to the M4 highway, where the Turkish forces also began removing the berms near their observation posts in Maarat Hattat, on Damascus-Aleppo M5 highway.
