Lyrical talent in Derik seeking to revive the Kurdish singing heritage

She showed a great passion for art and music from an early age and participated in many singing activities in the region. Unlike many talented people, she received the support of her family and society, but she is still facing obstacles in the way of achieving her dreams.
Aisha Sardar, a 25-year-old young woman from Derik in northeastern Syria, her talent was grown up and developed in the town that embraced many young talents and artists. She started teaching music to children in schools, and now she is seeking to fulfill her dream of reviving the Kurdish heritage songs.
At first, she used to sing for her family and friends, everyone admired her performance, so she decided to look for an opportunity to develop her talent, where she joined Judy Folkloric Band until she stood on the musical theaters. In 2018 she underwent a four-month musical training course in "Martyr Yaktah" Artistic Academy in the town of Tirbe-Spi (Qahtaniya), east of Qamishli.
Aisha was not satisfied with this extent, she chose to teach music in schools, at the same time, she was attending the "Dejla Center for Culture and Art" in Derik after the end of her school hours, and she was also completing her training with her lyric band "Judy”.
She said that she does not seek fame, but she wants to refine her talent: "My dream is to revive the ancient folklore and to present it to the audience in an artistic manner, for not to be forgotten.”
Judy Band, which Aisha works with, is trying to present folklore products to the audience, in an attempt to revive it, as the band's members have released many folk songs, and they are preparing other songs because these songs meet with mass follow-up, according to the band.
While teaching music and singing in schools, Aisha prepared many songs for children, but she did not have the opportunity to record them.
In theory, Aisha says, children are taking good lessons in music, but they suffer from applying these lessons in practice, because of the limited availability of musical instruments in schools.
After returning from school, Aisha trains at the Culture and Art Center in Derik for long hours, as she focuses on the old Kurdish songs, in order to fulfill her dream in reviving the Kurdish heritage songs that attest to the ancient and authenticity of the Kurdish art since ancient times, she added.
