The Syrian Parliament membership is closed, 2,015 candidates from Aleppo

The Supreme Judicial Committee for the elections of the Syrian People's Assembly has announced on Wednesday closing the door to candidacy for the third legislative round, where 8,735 people applied for their candidacy in various Syrian governorates, and 2,015 applicants in Aleppo.
On Wednesday morning, the building of Aleppo Governorate witnessed a heavy turnout to receive applications for membership of the Syrian People's Assembly for the third legislative round.
Submission of applications ended at 7 p.m. without extension, and the election is scheduled to take place on the 13th of next month as defined by Decree No. 76 for the year 2020.
The director of the Local Councils in the General Secretariat of Aleppo Governorate, Suleiman al-Mousa, told North-Press that the number of requests for membership of the People's Assembly in the third legislative round has reached 2,015 requests, of which 951 requests for the city center of Aleppo, while the countryside is still ahead compared to the previous round, where it reached 1,064 applicants for this round.
Al-Mousa explained: "After three days, the Judicial Committee will study the applications with the security authorities, after which the names will be announced to begin the propaganda process for the candidates who will be announced.”
He noted that the total number of applicants for the People's Assembly elections has reached 8,735 applicants, in all Syrian governorates, adding that the round was attended by the greatest number of candidates compared to the previous round by 18%.
