Israeli forces raid homes in Syria’s Quneitra
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Monday made an incursion into the southern countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, from the Tel Abu al-Ghaithar gate inside the buffer zone and raided several homes.
Local sources told North Press that an Israeli force of eight military vehicles entered the area and split into two groups after reaching Saida al-Hanout village.
The sources said that one group remained in Saida al-Hanout, while the other moved toward Saida al-Jolan town.
The forces simultaneously raided two homes in the two locations, according to the sources.
In Saida al-Hanout, the force targeted a house in the western neighborhood of the village. A confrontation took place between the homeowner and Israeli soldiers during the raid, prompting the soldiers to fire randomly, the sources noted.
They added that the gunfire caused panic among residents.
The forces searched the targeted homes but made no arrests, the sources said.
After completing the raids, the Israeli forces withdrew along the same route toward Tel Abu al-Ghaithar through Wadi al-Raqad.
Israeli forces have repeatedly entered areas of Quneitra and southern Syria, particularly near the UN-monitored buffer zone separating Israeli-occupied territory from Syria. Such incursions have raised concerns among local residents over growing Israeli military activity in the area.
