Syrian Interior Ministry announces arrest of two suspects in Homs massacre
HOMS, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces in Homs announced on Thursday the arrest of Fayez Abbas Akhal and Nasr Muhammad Ghosn on charges of involvement in war crimes.
The forces said investigations revealed that the two suspects took part alongside armed groups affiliated with the Military Security Directorate under the former Syrian government in the assault on Wadi al-Mawla village in the Talkalakh area of western Homs countryside.
According to the statement, the attack resulted in a massacre that killed 40 civilians, including women and children.
The suspects have been referred to the Counterterrorism Directorate to complete the investigation and the necessary legal procedures before being transferred to the competent judiciary.
