Syrian Authorities seize 186,000 drug pills in Aleppo countryside

Qamishli, Syria (North Press) – The Anti-Narcotics Department in Syria’s Aleppo Governorate announced on Wednesday that it had seized 186,000 narcotic pills and arrested two suspected drug traffickers following a well-planned ambush and pursuit operation in the Afrin area in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

The department said the operation resulted in the confiscation of 186,000 narcotic pills packed in 186 bags, with a total weight of 32.320 kilograms.

It added that following the suspects’ interrogation, the seized narcotics were secured as evidence and the necessary legal procedures were completed before referring the two suspects to the competent judicial authorities.
