American City project set to begin within months in Syria’s Qamishli

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – American company AUG has completed the administrative and technical approvals required to launch the first phase of its American City project east of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, with construction expected to begin in less than two months, a company official on Saturday said.

Ibrahim Mamdouh, consulting engineer and head of the project’s technical division at AUG, told North Press that the company will open a project management center in the village of Tanouriyah, east of Qamishli, during the coming weeks, marking the start of construction.

He said “This is the first project we have launched in the region following approval from the General Investment Agency.”

According to Mamdouh, the project will cover 310 dunams and will be built to environmentally friendly construction standards. It will include U.S.-style educational institutions alongside an integrated residential complex.

The project will consist of two main sections. The first will include 35 residential towers ranging from 10 to 33 stories, forming the project’s main hub, while the second will comprise 350 villas.

Mamdouh said the housing units will be available to all buyers, adding that prices will be affordable for different income groups, with installment plans ranging from one to six years.

He did not disclose the project’s total investment value or expected completion date, saying only that implementation will enter its construction phase after the project management center opens in the coming weeks.
