Unknown gunmen attack fuel tanker in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen on Sunday attacked a fuel tanker carrying diesel near the northern desert of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria.
A local source from the town of al-Suwar, north of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire with machine guns on a government-owned fuel tanker near the desert area of Namliya.
The source added that the attackers briefly detained the driver before releasing him after threatening to kill him if he returned to work or approached oil fields again.
According to the source, the attack caused the tanker’s cargo to spill and resulted in partial damage to the vehicle.
