Unknown projectiles strike area around Mezzeh Military Airport in Damascus
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Three projectiles of unknown origin struck on Tuesday evening the vicinity of Mezzeh Military Airport in the Syrian capital, a government source told North Press.
The source said, “The area around Mezzeh Military Airport in Damascus was targeted by three unidentified projectiles, with no casualties or material damage reported.” The source added that security and military units immediately arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
According to the source, specialized teams began investigations in the area surrounding the airport to determine the launch point and type of the projectiles, which fell west of Damascus. No official body has yet released information regarding potential suspects or responsible parties.
Local security measures were tightened in the area shortly after the incident. Residents reported an increased presence of patrols and checkpoints leading to the western outskirts of Damascus, particularly near the roads that connect the capital with its surrounding rural areas.
