ISIS announces deadly assaults on SDF forces, oil tankers in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility on Monday for two separate attacks in areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Deir ez-Zor countryside in eastern Syria.

The group’s affiliated Amaq news agency released a statement saying that ISIS militants targeted an SDF military vehicle with machine guns near the village of al-Malha, north of Deir ez-Zor.

According to the statement, the attack resulted in the killing of two SDF fighters, after which the attackers withdrew to their positions.

In a separate statement, ISIS said that its militants also targeted oil tankers in the village of al-Makan with machine guns, causing damage to two of the vehicles.
