Landmine blast kills child, injures brother in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A landmine explosion killed on Monday a child and injured his younger brother in the town of Kabajib in the west of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A local source from Kabajib told North Press that the explosion occurred as the two brothers were playing with the device on their way to the town’s bakery to buy bread.
The explosion claimed the life of 13-year-old Yasser al-Mohammed and left his younger brother wounded.
Just two days earlier, another incident in the town of Diban, east of Deir ez-Zor, left a young man, Abdullah al-Razzaq, severely injured and resulted in the amputation of his hand after a landmine explosion.
