SDF arrests 233 ISIS members in first half of 2024

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Thursday the arrest of 233 members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in different areas in Northeast Syria in the first half of 2024.

The SDF Media Center revealed the total toll of the SDF forces’ operations in the first half of 2024 in Northeast Syria saying that they carried out 28 operations in cooperation with the U.S.-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.

The SDF added that its forces foiled six “terrorist attempts” and carried out three large-scale operations in Hawl Camp, Hamrat area in Raqqa, and the outskirts of Hasakah in north and northeast Syria.    

The operations led to the arrest of “233 terrorists, suspects, and collaborators” and the killing of 10 others, the SDF noted.

Also, six ISIS members were killed in failed operations launched by the group, according to the SDF Media Center.
