SDF commander meets with medicine students of Rojava University

QAMISHI, Syria (North Press) – The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, met on Sunday with sixth-year students from Rojava University’s Medical Faculty in the city Qamishli, northeast Syria.

The meeting, which was held in the university itself in Qamishli, was attended by Amina Ossi, the Deputy Co-chair of the Executive Council, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and Jiwan Mustafa, the head of the AANES’ Health Committee. Ilham Ahmad, the President of the Executive Council of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), also attended the gathering.

Ahmad discussed the political situation in the region and Syria, highlighting the Syrian government’s rejection of the educational curricula and certificates issued by the AANES.

For his part, Mazloum Abdi emphasized the success of the “Rojava” and northeast Syria in prioritizing “education as a pivotal endeavor.”

He praised the establishment of cultural, educational, and service-oriented institutions alongside military efforts.

Abdi commended the students for their dedication, acknowledging the support of their families. He emphasized the importance of preserving their achievements and securing international recognition for the universities and schools in northeast Syria.

Meanwhile, the students shared their challenges and provided recommendations to enhance the university’s educational experience.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to advancing education in northeast Syria, ensuring future generations benefit from quality opportunities.
