Turkish border guards arrest 2 Syrians while trying to get into Turkey
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish border guards arrested on Friday two Syrian asylum seekers after opening fire on them. The asylum seekers were trying to enter the Turkish territory illegally.
Local sources told North Press that during the past 24 hours, six people, including a woman were injured by the border guards, while trying to cross the border from areas held by Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA) in northern Syria.
Two people were arrested by the border guards after being injured after crossing the border. They crossed the border from the outskirts of the village of Azmarin, western Idlib Governorate, northwest Syria, a local source told North Press.
Another asylum seeker was injured on the outskirt of the village of Khirbat al-Jouz, western Idlib. He was transported to the villages hospital. Within the same group, eight people were captured by the border guards, according to the source.
In addition, three people, including a girl, were injured by the border guards while trying to cross the border from the village of al-Aziziyah, west of the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in northern Hasakah, northeastern Syria. They were transported to the city’s hospital, according to the source.
Turkish border guards have tightened the screws on the border, shooting Syrians and detaining them while attempting to cross the border towards Turkey.
