Painting forum for children kicks off in Syria’s Tabqa
TABQA, Syria (North Press) – The Second Junior Forum, a painting event, commenced on Thursday in Tabqa, northern Syria, with the participation of 25 children under the theme “Our Tiny Hands Shape Our Future.”
Sayel al-Sayel, a painter and supervisor of the exhibition, informed North Press that 25 children between the ages of six and fifteen, who are members of the Culture Center, are participating in the showcase.
The exhibition aims to commemorate the Sinjar (Shengal) massacre by creating a painting that denounces the heinous crimes committed by ISIS against the Yazidi community.
This forum is set to run until Thursday, which marks the anniversary of the Yazidi massacre.
Ali al-Alaya, co-chair of the Culture Committee of Tabqa, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), stressed the significance of activities that encourage children and uphold their artistic abilities, whether in drawing, music, or other forms of art.
