Second UN convoy enters Idlib in less than 24 hours
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – In less than 24 hours, a second UN convoy entered northwest Syria on Saturday from Turkey through the Bab al-Hawa border crossing in northern Idlib.
Informed sources told North Press that a humanitarian convoy made up of 26 trucks entered the areas held by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) in Idlib. The convoy carried aid for people affected by the February 6 earthquake.
The sources added that the convoy distributed the aid to partnered agencies in northwest Syria: 10 trucks to the World Food Programme (WFP) carrying 250 tons of flour, and 16 to the Ataa and Nasaem Khair organizations carrying vegetable oil and flour.
On Friday, a UN aid convoy entered northwest Syria from the Bab al-Hawa border crossing.
After receiving these convoys, the crossing revealed that 473 UN relief trucks entered through the crossing between February 9 and March 4.
