147 aid planes arrived in Syria following earthquake
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Up to Friday, 147 planes loading relief aid for earthquake-affected people have landed at airports of Damascus, Aleppo and Latakia, Head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Basem Mansour, said.
In a statement to state-run SANA News Agency, Mansour added that 59 planes landed at Damascus International Airport, 47 landed at Aleppo International Airport, and 41 landed at Latakia Airport.
On Friday, nine planes, eight from the UAE and one from Iran, landed at Damascus, Latakia and Aleppo airports with relief aid onboard for the earthquake-stricken that hit Syria on Feb. 6.
On Feb. 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Syria and Turkey, killing more than 44.000 and injuring many more, in addition to destroying thousands of buildings.
