Syria’s Jdeidet Yabous border crossing records 2 million passengers in 2026
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon has recorded active passenger and commercial truck traffic during the first eight months of 2026, Syrian authorities say.
From the beginning of the year through the end of August, 31,189 commercial trucks crossed the border in both directions, carrying a total of 528,329 tons of goods, the authority said Sunday.
The figures highlight the crossing’s role in supporting trade between Syria and Lebanon and facilitating the transit of commercial convoys through Syrian territory, it added.
Passenger traffic also exceeded 2.046 million crossings in both directions during the same period.
The crossing also received 46,485 Syrian citizens who voluntarily returned to the country.
