Turkey deports 40 Syrian refugees to SNA-held areas
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday at dawn, Turkish authorities deported 40 Syrian refugees to Syrian territory under the control of Turkish-backed factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA).
An exclusive source told North Press the deportation followed the arrest of a number of Syrians in several Turkish states, charged with missing temporary protection cards (also known as kimlik).
They were deported through the Bab al-Salameh border crossing near the city of Azaz, north of Aleppo.
Turkey deported about 18.844 Syrian refugees in 2022, according to exclusive statistics obtained by North Press from the administration of the Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey in Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.
The Turkish authorities continue to deport Syrians to areas held by the SNA in Aleppo Governorate under the pretexts of violating asylum regulations and non-procurement of the “kimlik.”
