Death toll of Aleppo’s building collapse reaches 15
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – In a statement, the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods in Aleppo said on Sunday the death toll of the collapsed building in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo has risen to 15 and two wounds.
According to the statement, emergency teams in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods in cooperation with Civil Defense and Syrian Red Crescent retrieved a child and an elderly man from debris, adding death toll stands at 15 Syrian citizens.
The statement noted seven families were living in the five-floor building.
The General Council in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah extended condolences for the victims’ families. It also thanked rescue teams and all institutions at the two neighborhoods who helped in the rescuing process.
The statement included the names of the victims, and noted that they would be buried after a ceremony by Sheikh Maqsoud’s residents tomorrow at 11am.
The inhabited building collapsed in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud at nearly 2 am after Sunday midnight.
