Syria’s Manbij countryside hit with dozens of mortar shells by Turkey
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, two villages in the countryside of Manbij, north Syria, were hit with more than twenty mortar shells by Turkish forces, causing no casualties.
“Turkish forces stationed at their base in the village of al-Yashli shelled the village of al-Sayyada in the northwestern countryside of Manbij with four mortar shells,” an informed military source told North Press.
In a related context, the village of Aoun al-Dadat was hit with about 19 mortar shells coming from the Turkish base near the mentioned village, the source added.
According to the source, the targeting only it caused panic and fear among civilians in the bombed villages.
It should be mentioned that most areas of northeast Syria have witnessed, for two weeks, the escalation of Turkish military operations, the latest of which was the bombing of the city of Kobani on Friday with artillery shells, which resulted in the injury of two civilians and the destruction of private property.
