Turkish forces resume shelling northeast Syria’s Tel Tamr
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed Syrian factions resumed bombardment, with heavier shelling, on two villages in the countryside of Tel Tamr, northeast Syria.
For the third time today, the Turkish forces targeted villages in the countryside of Tel Tamr with shells, a source of Tel Tamr Military Council told North Press.
Today evening, the villages of al-Dardara and Tel Shnan, in the northern and eastern countryside of the town, witnessed an intensive shelling by Turkish artillery, the source added.
As a result of the shelling, significant material losses were recorded in residents’ possessions.
Earlier today, the two Assyrian villages of Tel Shnan and Tel Keifji as well as the village of al-Dardara had been shelled.
More than 30 shells were shot on the aforementioned villages since early morning, according to the source of Tel Tamr Military Council.
Most of the villages located on the contact lines with the Turkish forces in the countryside of the towns of Tel Tamr and Abu Rasin in the countryside of Hasakah, have become empty of residents due to the continuous bombardment.
