Turkish posts in Syria’s Idlib receive military reinforcements
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday,Turkish forces sent new military reinforcements to their posts that are deployed in Idlib, northwest Syria, coinciding with the recent military escalation that the area has been witnessing for a while.
Two military convoys that entered Syria from the Kafr Losin border crossing with Turkey, north of Idlib, on Friday evening included more than 20 vehicles, military sources from the opposition factions told North Press.
The reinforcements included personnel carriers, cement block carriers, individual guards cabins, field guns, and trucks carrying ammunition and logistical materials, heading to Zawiya Mountain, in addition to dozens of members, according to the sources.
In late September, a Turkish military convoy, consisting of more than 15 vehicles entered Syria from Kafr Losin border crossing and headed towards Turkish posts in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib.
There are about 13,000 Turkish troops, as well as 9,000 Turkish military vehicles in northwest Syria, stationed in more than 70 military points, included in an agreement between Moscow and Ankara, according to press reports.
Meanwhile, residents of the area fear continuation of the shelling that may result in military actions in a new advance attempt in the region amidst news about sending government military reinforcement to the surrounding area.
