SDF arrests two ISIS members in Syria’s Hasakah
QMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the counter-terrorism forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with support of the US-led Global Coalition, arrested two people who they said were “members of an ISIS sleeper cell,” in the city of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
The official website of the SDF said that the two people, who were arrested during a security operation in AlBo Me’aish neighborhood in the city of Hasakah, “participated earlier in planning and carrying out attacks against the military and security forces in different areas of Hasakah and its countryside.”
The SDF forces seized weapons, equipment and some documents that the two terrorists had.
On September 13, the SDF counter-terrorism forces, with the support of the Global Coalition, arrested two ISIS members, one of whom was the leader of a sleeper cell, in Hasakah.
The SDF-held areas in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor and Hasakah occasionally witness assassinations of tribal sheikhs, civil workers and military forces’ members.
