Civilian dies in Turkish bombing of Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Nearly a month after he was wounded in a Turkish bombardment on his village of al-Hoshariya, 12 km east of Manbij in northern Syria, 55-year-old Hussein al-Mawwas al-Ajlani passed away from his injuries.
In early August, al-Ajlani was transferred to the hospital after being seriously injured in the abdomen by shrapnel of mortar shells fired by the Turkish forces from their base stationed in the village of Qirata 15 km north of Manbij.
Turkish forces and their loyal factions have increased their bombing of the same villages in Manbij since the beginning of last July, which led to the death of two children in the villages of al-Dandania and al-Sayada and four injuries among civilians, according to the official website of the Manbij Military Council affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces.
According to al-Ajlani’s family, he was injured when a mortar shell fell on his house. He remained in the intensive care unit at Manbij Specialized Hospital for treatment for about ten days and underwent a spleen removal, after which he was discharged from the hospital.
According to a medical source in the hospital, the cause of the death was the failure of his kidneys, which were also damaged by shrapnel.
