Turkish intelligence arrests a child in Syria’s Tel Abyad

AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – Yesterday, on Sunday, the Turkish intelligence arrested a ten-year-old child in the town of Hamam al-Turkman, east of Tel Abyad, northern Syria.

A source close to the family told North Press that last night, the Turkish intelligence, accompanied by military personnel and vehicles, raided the house of Muhammad al-Dahash, a worker from the Arabic Albu Rashid clan in the town, and kidnapped the ten-year-old child after it did not find his father at home.

The source added that the child had thrown stones at one of the Turkish military vehicles during the raid on the house, “but none of the family could believe that he would be arrested because of that and at this age.”

The source stated that the family does not know the place or the fate of its child.

Since 2019, the Turkish forces, along with their affiliated armed opposition factions, have controlled the city of Tel Abyad and parts of its countryside, including the town of Hamam al-Turkman.

Areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions and supervised by Turkish security and military authorities are witnessing widespread violations, according to local and international reports.
