Syrian official says SDF leaders to receive state positions after integration
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Mustafa Abdi, a member of the presidential team overseeing the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), told North Press on Wednesday that “SDF leaders have been given positions, and Mazloum Abdi and Ilham Ahmad will also hold positions within the state.”
He said that after more than six months of work by the presidential team on the integration process and implementation of the Jan. 29 agreement, SDF Commander in Chief Mazloum Abdi announced the dissolution of the SDF and the Autonomous Administration.
Abdi added that the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) will be incorporated into the Interior Ministry rather than the Defense Ministry.
Abdi, who is also a parliamentarian representing Hasakah Governorate, said the Kurdish language will be included in the curriculum “according to a specific mechanism and a set number of hours,” adding that Kurdish rights are guaranteed, particularly following the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 13.
He said all administrations will be integrated into the government, while border crossings and oil fields will be handed over to the state. He added that work is continuing to complete the necessary steps to fully establish state authority across Hasakah Governorate.
