Iraqi refugee killed in Syria’s Hawl camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Friday morning, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) found the body of an Iraqi refugee in the first sector of the Hawl camp, east of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

A source of the Asayish said that the Iraqi refugee, Atallah Antar Hayes, 23, was found shot in the head.

It is likely that the perpetrators of the assassination and the previous ones were the sleeper cells of the Islamic State (ISIS).

On August 25, a woman and a young man of Iraqi nationality were also shot dead.

During the first quarter of 2021, the Hawl camp recorded more than 40 killings, in addition to about 30 other killings since mid-April.
