Iraqi refugee killed in Syria’s Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Internal Security Forces (Asayish) found the body of an Iraqi refugee in Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah, a security source in the camp said, on Sunday.

26-year-old Iraqi refugee Manal Khalil Ibrahim was shot by unknown individuals on Sunday in the first sector in Hawl Camp, the source added.

On Saturday, Asayish found the body of an Iraqi refugee in the camp, a security source in the camp said.

This is the third case of murder inside the camp following the security campaign launched by the Asayish with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces in late of  March.

On April 17, an Iraqi refugee was killed, and two Iraqi refugees and a Syrian IDP were wounded, by gunshots fired by unknown individuals in the first sector.

Since early 2021, ISIS sleeper cells have killed 47 persons inside the camp, according to a statement recently released by Asayish.
