Ammunition depot exploded in Syria’s Idlib, casualties reported
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, an ammunition depot of a Turkish-backed armed opposition group near an IDP camp in the northern countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria, was exploded, killing a woman and wounding 6 others.
“An explosion took place near al-Ferousiya IDP camp in the town of al-Fo’a, which resulted in the killing of a woman and the injury of 6 people, in addition to material damage to the surrounding tents,” local sources told North Press.
“The explosion took place in an ammunition depot of the Harakat Ahrar al-Sham, without knowing the reason,” the sources added.
The sources pointed out that most of al-Fo’a fighters are of foreign nationalities and are leaders in Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
Syrian opposition-controlled areas in northwestern Syria witness frequent explosions amid the groups’ inability to control security, according to the residents.
