Israeli reinforcements in the West Bank for fear of additional attacks
RAMALLAH, Palestine (North Press) – On Monday, the Israeli forces sent military reinforcements to the West Bank for fear of any additional attacks that may affect their soldiers.
The Israeli forces continue to search for the Palestinian who fired at Za’tara checkpoint, south of Nablus, on Sunday, which resulted in the wounding of three Israelis; the condition of one of them is very critical and the other one is serious.
The Israeli forces stormed the village of Beita, south of Nablus, and clashes broke out there, during which the Palestinians threw Molotov cocktails and stones that resulted in the wounding of three Palestinians.
The Israeli intelligence believed that it was an individual behavior.
Following this operation, the Israeli forces decided to reinforce in the West Bank.
“The West Bank Division of the Israeli forces informs the brigades operating in the field to raise the state of alert for fear that yesterday’s operation being repeated,” Israeli website Walla reported.
Israeli security estimated that probably “Hamas will carry out many operations and support the West Bank.
The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his “certainty that the Israeli security forces will capture the attacker as soon as possible.”
“We will not allow terrorism to raise its head, and we will strike our enemies hard,” he added.
Palestinian sources reported that settlers attacked houses and set fire in an agricultural field in the village of Jaloud, south of Nablus, on Sunday at night.
However, the Israeli forces threw stun grenades towards the protestors in al-Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, in an attempt to disperse them and avoid their presence in the areas.
Israeli forces deployed around the protestors in the neighborhood coincide with the settlers’ harassments in the region.
During the chanting and shouting of slogans in front of the houses threatened with eviction in favor of the settlers, the Israeli forces threw stun grenades towards the protestors.
Yesterday morning, a session in the Israeli Supreme Court was held to review the resumption submitted by four families, “al-Jaouni, Shikafi, al-Kurd, al-Qasim” in the neighborhood regarding the decisions to evacuate them from their homes.
The court presented a proposal to the families to “recognize the ownership of the land to the Jews in exchange for residents staying in their homes with specific lease contracts in the names of a person from the family, and upon his death the house is transferred to the settlers.”
The court informed the families and settlers that next Thursday will be a deadline to respond to the suggestion.
