Tribal fighting in Syria’s Raqqa leaves casualties
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, several people lost their lives and others wounded in a fight between two tribes in Tel Abyad Street in the city of Raqqa, north Syria.
Four people were killed in a quarrel because of parking in the crowded Tel Abyad Street in Raqqa, local sources told North Press.
It is worth mentioning that Tel Abyad Street is one of the main streets in the city, as it always witnesses heavy traffic.
There were a number of wounded, but the exact number has not known, and the sounds of gunfire were heard until the hour preparing the news.
The quarrel began with blade weapons, followed by vandalism of a number of shops inside the market, and then a person opened fire, killing two people and wounding others, the sources added.
Following the incident, the Internal Security Forces imposed a security cordon on Tel Abyad Street and al-Amasi Street in the city of Raqqa.
The quarrel caused panic among residents and led to the closure of shops in the markets of the city of Raqqa.
Meanwhile, ambulances and machine-gun fire can be heard.
