Child killed, another wounded in Turkish bombardment of Syria’s Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – A child was killed and another was wounded on Sunday as a result of the Turkish bombardment of the village of al-Zankal, northwest of Syria’s Manbij, with heavy weapons.

A local source told North Press that the shelling targeted the village school, killing an eight-year-old child and injuring another, who was transferred to a hospital in the city.

Manbij countryside witnesses nearly daily shelling from the Turkish base located in the village of al-Yashli. The bombardments extend from the village of al-Hawsriyah, northeast of Manbij, to the Aoun al-Dadat region, also affecting areas in the countryside of al-Bab and Arima in Manbij’s western countryside.

On Saturday, Turkish forces targeted the village of al-Jat from their point in the village of Tokhar al-Saghir with mortars, with no information about casualties.
