Unidentified persons killed SDF member in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in al-Shuheil town, 40 km east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source told North Press that unidentified gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle, pursued a public transportation vehicle, which was heading to al-Shuheil town.
When the vehicle reached the town, the gunmen stopped it and forced the SDF member to leave the vehicle to kill him with three shots, and then they fled, the source added.
On Tuesday, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the assassination of Ismail al-Khezam, a member of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), near al-Attal Roundabout in al-Busayrah, east of Deir ez-Zor.
The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been recently witnessing an increase in the ISIS sleeper cells’ activities, where SDF members and the employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria are being targeted.
